Training Religious Leaders on Political Principles

32 religious leaders have graduated from the training workshop “Introduction to Political Sciences for Religious Leaders in Lebanon”, which was organized by the Institute of Citizenship and Diversity Management at Adyan Foundation from 28 to 30 August 2017 in Bethania – Harissa with the support of the British Embassy in Beirut. The graduation ceremony was attended by the Chargé d’affaires of the British Embassy in Beirut Mr. Benjamin Wastnage, and the Mufti Ahmed Taleb, in addition to the participants, their families, and some trainers.

The 3-days workshop aims at fostering religious social responsibility among religious leaders through education and promotion of public issues such as citizenship, democracy, civil state diversity, coexistence, etc.

Participants of the workshop come from various backgrounds: women and men; Lebanese, Syrian, Iraqi, Egyptian, and Palestinian ; Sunni, Shi’a, Druze, Alawite, Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant Christians, and were selected based on their religious knowledge, merit, and activism
