The Community Engagement Department has a primary objective of involving members of the Adyan community (including networks, forums, friends, and partners) in activities that foster diversity, solidarity, and human dignity. Adyan’s networks serve as an extension of the organization, encompassing individuals from Lebanon, the MENA region, and beyond. These networks form a community dedicated to “living together” and uphold the values of religious social responsibility. They also contribute to community resilience and celebrate spiritual solidarity. The department comprises three units: The Community Outreach Unit, the Social Solidarity and Resilience Unit, and the Spiritual Solidarity Unit.
ABOUT
COMMUNITY OUTREACH UNIT
The Community Outreach Unit operates on three levels. Firstly, it encompasses Adyan Networks, which consist of individuals from Lebanon and various nationalities who embody Adyan’s values in their personal and professional lives. Secondly, it includes community awareness and training, offering sessions on topics such as Diversity & Coexistence, Freedom of Religion and Belief, Inclusive Citizenship, Religious Social Responsibility, Communication, and Dialogue to diverse groups of youth, scouts, and young professionals. Lastly, this unit incorporates an outreach component, involving participation in local and international exchange programs by nominating suitable candidates.
SOCIAL SOLIDARITY AND RESILIENCE UNIT
The Social Solidarity and Resilience Unit functions on two levels. Firstly, it focuses on the Forum for Religious Social Responsibility, aiming to enhance religious social responsibility for peaceful inter and intra-religious coexistence, as well as non-sectarian social cohesion. Secondly, it undertakes solidarity projects that address current and pressing humanitarian needs throughout Lebanon, particularly through the Solidarity in Action initiative.
