Religions and Political Values

What’s preventing the emergence, in the Arab world, of a system of humanitarian values that converge with values calling to humanize humans in Islam, Christianity and other various religions in fair, democratic states that guarantee freedom for all?

Alleviating contemporary challenges burdening humans in the Arab world requires providing minimum moral and religious understanding for the common good. Otherwise, it is impossible to talk about political continuity and we will remain hostage to authoritarianism and vulnerable to chaos and demagogy, which prevent the establishment of a modern, democratic state that fulfils human aspirations and ambitions.

Our hope is that this book will lead to convergence and solidarity among different citizens of the Arab world. The first effective step towards the establishment of a modern and democratic state, whose values are inspired from religions and moral systems advocating for the respect of the human being resides in promoting the sense of inclusive citizenship that contributes to embedding cultural and religious pluralism as a value deeply rooted in the modern social structure.
