On August 4, 2020 at 6:07 PM, a shipment of ammonium nitrate stored in a Beirut Port hangar exploded, causing devastating loss of life, injuries and widespread destruction across Beirut. Adyan, the Lebanese Foundation for Diversity, Solidarity, and Human Dignity, focused all its efforts to support people that were affected by the explosion. To this end, Adyan launched the project We Stand with Beirut (WSWB) dedicated to helping those afflicted.
Adyan Foundation had no previous expertise in the field of humanitarian relief, and took this opportunity to initiate several partnerships and collaborations with other organizations, initiatives and individuals from different domains, that aimed to stand with Beirut
Foundation for Diversity, Solidarity, and Human Dignity.
