The World Interfaith Harmony Week has not passed ordinarily this year, but rather witnessed the launching of “Taadudiya”, a platform that works on fostering the culture of accepting difference and valuing diversity, with the aim of ensuring positive interaction, social cohesion and peaceful coexistence between the different components of society. This is how “Taadudiya” coordinator, Dalia Al-mokdad described Adyan’s new platform during its launching event that was held in Beirut with the participation of various diplomatic, political, spiritual and media figures.
Within the framework of Adyan’s strategy to counter extremism and hate speech, this website fulfills the foundation’s promise for the next 10 years: Contribute to the acceptance of cultural, political and religious diversity and foster the adoption of pluralism as a sociopolitical value.
In this framework, journalist Ali Omar from Mosul, Iraq, shared his views in this video message:
The event was presented by the Jordanian journalist, Sandy Habashneh and included speeches of the British Ambassador in Lebanon, HE Hugo Shorter, Director of the Dialogue of Civilizations Department at the League of Arab States, Ambassador Samia Bibres, the Lebanese Minister of Information, HE Melhem Riachi, and the President of Adyan foundation, Father Fadi Daou.
