The institute of citizenship and diversity management at Adyan Foundation participated in the “Religion & Politics in the Crisis of Engagement” conference in Münster-Germany, organized by ESITIS (European Society for Intercultural Theology and Interreligious Studies).
Dr. Nayla Tabbara, director of the institute, delivered a keynote speech on “Sketching a peacebuilding theology in Islam” and moderated a “Corridor of Ideas on Peacemaking in Islam” that featured scholars from Amsterdam, Birmingham, Oslo and Tilburg.
This conference also screened Adyan documentary film “Aks el Seir” (Against the current), which was highly valued from ESITIS members and the audience, as well as featured the first public display of the “Divine Hospitality” book co-authored by Rev. Prof. Fadi Daou and Dr. Tabbara in its German version Göttliche Gastfreundschaft, published in April 2017.
Hundreds of international scholars participated for 4 days in highly stimulating panels on engaged theology, religion and politics, and intercultural relations and challenges, during the conference which was held on 26-29 April 2017.
