Pope Francis has received the participants to the International Conference “Tackling violence committed in the name of religion” organized by Wilton Park in association with Rashad Center for Cultural Governance of Adyan Foundation & the Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue held in Rome from 31 January to 2 February.
The conference was attended by 64 senior politicians, diplomats, and religious leaders from 19 countries, and aimed to develop policies related to countering extremism and violence and to strengthen cooperation between governments and religious institutions to activate the role of religion in the face of extremism.
