While most of the communities are trying to rebuild their national unity on the basis of citizenship, Adyan Foundation has worked for three years with the national religious authorities to develop the educational manual “The role of Christianity and Islam in promoting citizenship and living together”. This manual in its two versions (Christian and Islamic) aims at promoting education on the common public life values and contributing to achieve inclusive citizenship through educational resources for educators and preachers.
On Saturday, May 20th, 2017, Adyan Foundation has gathered all spiritual figures in the launching ceremony of the manual, which was held under the patronage of His Excellency President Michel Aoun. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Education and Higher Education, HE Marwan Hmedeh, representatives of all religious authorities and of Arab and foreign embassies.
This Manual is done in collaboration with the Middle East Council of Churches, Lebanese Islamic Dar el Fatwa, High Shiite Islamic Council and the Druze Council and in partnership with the Danish-Arab Partnership Program and Danmission.
