Adyan Foundation launched the Iraqi Network for Inclusive Citizenship during the graduation ceremony of 13 Iraqi leaders who participated in the training workshop on “Cultural and Religious Diversity and Active and Inclusive Citizenship” from 6 to 12 July 2017 at Sacré-Coeur Monastery, Mount Lebanon.

The training workshop constituted a space for dialogue, interaction, and exchange of experiences, especially in examining the Lebanese and Iraqi experiences in the context of diversity and citizenship.

It also included workshops, an exchange of experiences with Adyan’s Ambassadors Network in Lebanon, as well as field trips. Participants have visited the Monastery of St. Anthony Qozhaya, the cities of Tripoli and Jbeil, and the mansion of Prince Abdullah Al-Tannoukhi in Abey to learn about the religious and cultural heritage in these areas and meet with the local, religious, and social bodies to discuss their role in confronting extremism and promoting civil peace.
