In the framework of Development and Peace – Caritas Canada’s 2018 Share Lent campaign “Together for Peace” and in order to make the realities of the countries of the Global South better known as well as the strength of the social movements that DP support, Adyan was invited to take part of this campaign to come to speak with to DP members and donors and help nourish the solidarity that exists between the communities in Canada and the communities living in Lebanon.
The Community Outreach Coordinator Ms.Nagham Tarhini represented Adyan during this solidarity visit from March 7 to March 20, 2018, in the provinces of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, and Labrador, Canada. The tour included various meetings with bishops, policymakers, parishes, university students, and the DP community. Nagham has shared Adyan’s mission and values through the different projects implemented by Adyan related to cultural and religious diversity, active and inclusive citizenship, and building reconciliation among the refugees and different communities living in Lebanon.
