Adyan President Finalist for the Elevate Prize

On October 5, 2020, 10 winners of the prestigious Elevate Prize will be announced! The Elevate Prize is awarded by the Elevate Prize Foundation, in partnership with MIT Solve. It empowers and celebrates inspiring people who can spark movements, mobilize people, and catalyse positive transformational change. It looks for applicants seeking to elevate humanity, including leaders, innovators, activists, and risk-takers who are influencing their community every day!

We are thrilled that Father Fadi Daou, Adyan Foundation’s President, is now one of the 20 finalists for the Elevate Prize as one of the inspiring change makers tackling the most compelling global challenges of our time. Out of almost 1,300 applications from 119 countries from around the globe, Father Fadi Daou is recognized for his potential to elevate humanity and inspire others to act as engines for social good. Through acknowledging diversity as an enriching factor rather than a discriminatory one, Father Fadi found more dynamic and inclusive ways to prevent conflict and discrimination and empower vulnerable communities.

Today, when I look around, I see strong divisive forces in the world. But, I also see people protesting, marching, striving for inclusive societies. I do believe that together we have the power to lead the change!”

Father Fadi Daou, President of Adyan Foundation

The Elevate Prize awards up to USD $5 million annually to a cohort of 10 global heroes, as well as offers unprecedented resources for two years after being selected. Final interviews with the finalists will take place on October 1, 2020, and 10 winners will be announced on October 5, 2020. Finalists will be evaluated by a renowned 21-member judging panel, including Chef José Andres, María Elena Salinas, Yo-Yo Ma, and some of the brightest minds in business, academia and humanitarian efforts.

In a press release about the award, Founder of The Elevate Prize, Joseph Deitch said,

We want to share the stories of these change makers—whether they are focused on equality, education, economic issues or are addressing other critical needs—and showcase their enormous energy, talent, and passion with the rest of the world. In this way, we believe The Elevate Prize can create a powerful fan base for each winner and for social entrepreneurship in general. Ultimately, the goal is to awaken and nurture the hero in all of us, and ignite a chain reaction of giving, goodness and love on a global scale. The world is looking for heroes. I believe this is needed now more than ever.”
