1000 students at Adyan’s Community Service Festival 2017

27,500 students implemented 1108 projects during 55 thousand working hours; These figures summarize the “Community Service” project done in various Lebanese schools, which was culminated in the “Community Service Festival 2017”, with the participation of more than one thousand students from 61 public and private schools.

Under the patronage of the Minister of Education & Higher Education, HE Marwan Hamadeh, Adyan Foundation organized the festival in partnership with the Ministry of Education & Higher Education and the Educational Center for Research and Development, with the support of the British Embassy in Lebanon.

According to the evaluation of the community service unit in the Ministry of Education & Higher Education, 9 model projects for community service were selected to be awarded during the festival:

– Model project in the socio-economic field: “learn to work” – “Taalam li taamal” project by Sarafand Public Secondary School

– Model project in the sports field: “Gym and marathon” project by Fakha Public Secondary School

– The model project in the educational-cultural field: “Friends of Tourism Library” project by Fadel Al-Mokadam Public Secondary School for Girls in the North of Lebanon

– Another model project in the educational-cultural field: “our mutual home” project by Our Lady School for Maronite Sisters of the Holy Family in Sahel Alma

 

– Model project in the health field: “Blood category guide” project by Mouhamad Falha Public Secondary School

– Model project in the environmental field: “Building a public park” project by Hermel Public Secondary School

– Model project in the art field: “our environment is nice and our streets are nicer” – “Bie’tna helwe w chawere’na ahla” project by Aydamoun Public Secondary School

– Model project in the field of civil rights: “Bus stop” project for Al-Aqsa Public Secondary School

– Model project in the tourism-heritage field: “Shamsek Ya Baalbek Rajaa” project by Jawdat Rustom Haidar Public Secondary School in Baalbek Hermel

– Special prize for the high school for deaf in recognition of its participation in the preparation of outstanding projects to serve the community beyond the challenges.

The festival included speeches of the President of Adyan Foundation, Father Fadi Daou, coordinator of the Private Educational Institutions Federation in Lebanon, Father Boutros Azar, the President of the Educational Center for Research and Development, Dr. Nada Aouijan, the representative of British Ambassador Hugo Shorter, Mr. Bernhard van Deren, and the representative of the Minister of Education, the General Director of the ministry of Education, Mr. Fadi Yarak.
