Adyan is an independent organization that works tirelessly to promote its mission both within Lebanon and on a global scale. Its operations extend beyond national borders, reaching diverse communities regionally and internationally. Adyan implements a wide range of initiatives and programs through its dedicated departments, which include the Institute of Citizenship and Diversity Management, Community Engagement, Rashad Center, and Media.

Adyan’s success and impact are not solely attributed to its members, but also to the support it receives from its networks, friends, and honorary members. Moreover, Adyan is equipped with a highly qualified professional team, whose expertise and dedication drive the organization’s programs and ensure their effectiveness.

Identity

Adyan is a Civil Society Organization, inclusive of all religions and beliefs, and working on a positive approach towards diversity and on the interaction between religions and the public sphere.

The members of Adyan’s family gather around a common vision that includes valuing cultural and religious diversity as part of a global civilizational legacy and believing in the sacredness of human conscience and in the dignity and rights of each human being, as well as in the importance of cross-denominational and supra-identitarian solidarity.

Mission

Valuing cultural and religious diversity in its conceptual and practical dimensions, promoting citizenship and peaceful coexistence and diversity management among individuals and communities, on the social, political, educational, informational, and spiritual levels, and offering support to marginalized groups and relief for the afflicted, and working for social and transitional justice, as well as human and ecological development in a holistic and sustainable way.

Vision

Adyan envisions a world where diversity between individuals and communities is lived as an enrichment, generating mutual understanding, inclusive citizenship, creative development, sustainable peace and spiritual solidarity.

The Network for Religious and Traditional Peacemakers

The Network for Religious and Traditional Peacemakers builds bridges between grassroots peacemakers and global players in order to strengthen the work done for sustainable peace. The Network strengthens peacemaking by collaboratively supporting the positive role of religious and traditional actors in peace and peacebuilding processes. The Network for Religious and Traditional Peacemakers was initiated in 2013 as a direct result of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s report titled “Strengthening the role of mediation in the peaceful settlement of disputes, conflict prevention and resolution” (UN GA Report A/66/811, 2012) and the supporting guidance titled “UN Guidance for Effective Mediation” (UN GA Resolution 65/283, 2012)

International Partnership on Religion and Sustainable Development

PaRD brings together governmental and intergovernmental entities with diverse civil society organisations (CSOs) and faith-based organisations (FBOs), to engage the social capital and capacities vested in diverse faith communities for sustainable development and humanitarian assistance in the spirit of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Religions for Peace

Religions for Peace is global movement distinguished by its global leadership, Interreligious Councils, and interfaith women and youth networks which work at local, national, and regional levels as changemakers. They respond to challenges – everything from violence and discrimination to environmental degradation – with bold solutions.

Joint Learning Initiative on Faith & Local Communities

A learning network of researchers and practitioners is established to construct fair and equitable spaces for generating and disseminating evidence on religions in development and community work. The primary objective is to enhance collaborations among various faith and non-faith actors, both at international and local levels, with the aim of fostering stronger partnerships.

NGO Committee on FoRB (Geneva)

The NGO Committee on Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) in Geneva acts as a sub-committee of the CONGO Special Committee on Human Rights. It aims to promote the right to freedom of thought, conscience, religion or belief, and ensure these fundamental freedoms are upheld according to international standards at the UN.

ConnexUs

ConnexUs is a globally recognized learning, networking, and coordination platform that enables individuals to collaborate with professionals operating in conflict-affected contexts, actively addressing urgent challenges. With a primary focus on enhancing effectiveness and impact, ConnexUs facilitates the creation of valuable connections and opportunities. Through its comprehensive services and resources, ConnexUs aims to empower users in their respective endeavors, fostering improved outcomes and results.

Innovation for Change MENA is a dynamic initiative that serves as a catalyst for positive social transformation in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. With a strong focus on innovation, collaboration, and advocacy, this platform brings together a diverse community of change-makers, activists, and organizations who are committed to addressing pressing social and political challenges. By fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment, Innovation for Change MENA empowers individuals and groups to develop innovative solutions, promote human rights, strengthen civil society, and drive sustainable change. Through its various programs, capacity-building efforts, and cross-sector partnerships, Innovation for Change MENA is driving a wave of transformative innovation that is reshaping the region’s social, economic, and political landscape.

Development Assistance Roadmap Portal in the middle East

Darpe is a comprehensive portal designed to assist individuals in the NGO sector by providing access to tenders and calls. Their mission is to deliver vital business intelligence information that empowers development specialists in transforming tender or grant opportunities into successful proposals within the MENA region. With a synchronized and searchable website, Darpe enables users to efficiently navigate and utilize the valuable resources necessary for maximizing their chances of success.

LEBANON REFORM, RECOVERY AND RECONSTRUCTION FRAMEWORK (3RF) - Member of the Consultative Group

The Reform, Recovery and Reconstruction Framework (3RF) is a unique and inclusive platform to respond to Lebanon’s national reform challenges and unlock investments in reconstruction. The 3RF is a collaborative and strategic partnership between the Government of Lebanon, the civil society and the international community.

Launched in December 2020, the 3RF was originally designed as a response plan to address the urgent needs of the population affected by the 4th of August Port of Beirut explosion and to implement much-needed reforms to support reconstruction and to help restore people’s trust in governmental institutions by improving governance.

The Lebanese Policy & Research Network on Displacement (LPRND) at the Issam Fares Institute

The Lebanese Policy and Research Network on Displacement (PRND) works towards the implementation of displacement and refugee policies based on international and regional human rights instruments, responsibility sharing, and social inclusion. PRND emphasizes inclusive partnerships to address protection and assistance needs within the region, aiming to contribute to an environment that respects the rights and well-being of displaced populations. Through research and policy development, PRND strives to foster collaboration and inclusive approaches to tackle the challenges of displacement.
