TABBARA, Nayla. What About The Other? A question for cross-cultural education in the 21st century, Lebanon, Adyan/NDU publications, 2012
This book is based on an international conference on Cross-Cultural Education joining 50 Academicians, Educators, Policy Makers and Politicians from 24 European and Arab countries, in collaboration between Adyan, Notre Dame University-Louaize, UN-Alliance of Civilizations, Anna Lindh Foundation and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung.
Abstract & Findings
This publication is one of the outcomes of a two year experience in Cross-Cultural research, education and communication joining different partners from the Euro-Mediterranean region
It represents an added value to the reflection on cross-Cultural Education and its practice since it combines actors from different fields (Civil Society, Academic institutions and Governmental and International Organizations) and from different regions, namely European and Arab countries.
As an effective reflection on Cross-Cultural education has to take into account the complex realities we live in, this book tackles the current socio-political framework in both Europe and the Arab World, as well as the religious dimension of Cross-Cultural Education, besides providing strategies for cross-cultural education and examples of good practices in that domain.
Thus its targeted audience is varied. It can benefit academicians, trainers, civil society actors, policy makers, religious leaders and students and will no doubt enrich any reader.
Professor of science of religions and Islamic studies.

The book focuses on presenting major characteristics of cultural diversity within Europe and the Arab world. The contributing authors work within the frame of political, religious and theological aspects in which cross cultural education takes place, addressing it both from an abstract and theoretical perspective, as well as practical approaches.
