In Tripoli, Adyan Celebrates the 12th Spiritual Solidarity Day
For the 12th consecutive year, Adyan Foundation has organized the Spiritual Solidarity Day, in cooperation with local organizations in Tripoli. This year, the event entitled “Together We Praise Human Dignity” has taken place in ‘Al-Sayde’ School in Tripoli that is located between ‘Jabal Mohsen’ and ‘Bab Al-Tabbene’ on Saturday 27 October 2018.
The event has started with a round table and an interactive dialogue on human dignity with religious leaders and activists from Tripoli. In addition, members from Adyan’s Volunteers and Ambassadors Network have prayed a common prayer that emphasized the cordiality and fraternity of all human beings, especially the children, the elderly, the displaced and the migrants, wishing diversity to be a way for brotherhood and spiritual solidarity.
The participants then participated in a series of parallel workshops such as Creative Writing, Family Education on Human Dignity and Religious Dialogue on Human Dignity…
In the closing ceremony, Adyan suggested follow-up initiatives inspired by the Spiritual Solidarity Day, and concluded in the final statement that “the religious teachings of Christianity and Islam have affirmed the inherent dignity of man, which is a gift from God. Therefore, we find ourselves required to respect and strengthen them without any discrimination. ”
The Spiritual Solidarity Day is a national yearly event that has been organized by Adyan Foundation since 2007, following the example of the historic meeting in Assisi in 1986. Each year, people from different denominations gather to celebrate interfaith values, and to affirm their adoption through prayers and cultural activities, and through a joint letter issued annually at the end of this day.
